The hotel is lovely stayed for 3 weeks on a business trip. The location is good for walks with good views. The rooms are nice and are very clean. the food and drinks are good and prices are not bad which is always great! the hospitality and staff at the Appleby are absolutely fantastic! We were served most nights by David, who is an absolute gentleman his hospital is something a lot of hotels can do with these days. Another person that shouldn't go unnoticed is Helen, who was so lovely when I got myself in a spot of bother she was extremely helpful and professional.

A beautiful location. It was a girls treat and we only made use of the spa and afternoon tea, so did not stop overnight at the hotel. It was a fabulous spa experience (birthday treat) and paid extra for a massage but definitely a great experience. Staff were very friendly and afternoon tea was delicious after such a relaxing experience. Well worth a visit!

Staff were all excellent and very accommodating from reception to bar staff and the spa itself We got upgraded to a manor room which was nice although the decor was a little dated. The beds are comfortable though. The star attraction is definitely the Spa. We enjoyed a couple of nights here as part of a decadence spa package and it was definitely worth it. Only niggle was the restaurant where we had to wait a little while for our wine to be opened and some of the menu options were not equal in quality but still very good.

Just returned from a weekend break at Appleby Manor Hotel. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly at all times The room was lovely and spacious,very clean and had a lovely view. The food was perfect and was a very good standard. The use if the spa was a great addition. We received a voucher for the Lakes Distillery which was a great offer and really worth a visit. Looking forward to coming back. Keep doing what you are doing !

Got married here. Biggest mistake ever. Service is shocking. Zero customer service. I had to arrange ceremony room myself including moving heavy furniture. My reception room was a total mess not even a table cloth. We stayed in Cottage night prior no cereal bowls or bedding for dofa bed many lights without bulbs. The only good thing I can say is the castle itself is stunning. But avoid at all costs I'd not recommend not even for an overnight stay. Food is not good either

Lovely setting. Rooms a bit too warm for my liking but that's personal taste. Nice clean place and comfy beds. Had food in restaurant and bistro. Both really nice. Good choose at breakfast. Will definitely go back

We were upgraded on arrival, which was great. Spa facilities are fantastic, and I've visited lots of spas and worked in the industry for over 25 years. Our treatments were unfortunately cancelled due to the therapist calling in sick, but we were given full use of the spa and complementary drinks & vouchers to return. The staff couldn't do enough and was so apologetic. If u want a place to chill, that's not over capacitated with a lovely atmosphere. This is Ur place
